Bringing PactFi’s loan software to law firms

Product manager at PactFi

PactFi builds software for private credit deals. A prospective customer’s upcoming deals gave us a deadline to bring the platform to law firms. I owned the scope and requirements and worked with the customer, our lead engineer and our designer through delivery.

The team wanted to add several new participant roles at once. That would save work later, but it meant more complexity and testing before the deadline. I mapped out the work, timing and ownership and recommended starting with law firms only. The team agreed and accepted more work later for the other roles.

I then worked with the customer to separate what their first deals needed from what could wait, wrote up the product principles and exceptions for engineering, and tested the release with them before we went to market. The release supported the customer’s upcoming deals and gave PactFi a product for a new customer segment.
